Actually, I had some of those cheap immitations in the Alero since like July.

They were MUCH nicer than the yellow lights it came with, (in fact, when I broke one I replaced it with stock and the difference was very noticeable) and for $15 (give or take) I'd really recommend them if you don't want to fork out $200 for real HIDs.

The only problem is I've heard some other people don't have quite the luck I had, what with some melted harneses and such.

depending on how much you drive you WILL melt the harness sooner or later

I drove it a lot, but my longest trips were always only about and hour, tops, so I guess that might've had something to do with it.
Or maybe it was just a disaster waiting to happen within a week or something, heh.
