RPM shift for manual

Hey, I was just wondering when you guys shift your 2.4 5 speed for best fuel economy. I usually hit 2500 and then shift. Anyone else differ?

1500-2000 is best but usually not realistic in traffic when you've got cars behind you. But if you dont' have anyone behind you, shift before you hit 2k.

maybe with a diesel engine, but I usually shifted between 2500 & 3000 rpm with my gas engines,well... when I was being nice, but it was a neon and I didn't care much at the time, and now Im tryin to get a cheap parts for it and can't find any (fun little winter car)

Most of GM's engines are torque biased and can handle shifting at lower rpms. Ricers cannot.
