stereo dead. HELP

Hey all
been awhile since ive been on here.
I was jus wondering if anyone could hhelp me out.
I was changing the deck in my car to put a new one in. I was taking the old alpine deck out and noticed that the yellow ( battery lead wire) connector was missing ( between the alpine and aftermaket harness) and as i was removing it , it hit something and shot out a little smoke from the wire.
After that she was dead, checked stereo fuses and they were still good.
so i put the stock deck back in and that doesnt work either. but when my nightime lights come on,
any help guys would be soo awesome
i hate not having m,usic

Well if it shorted out on the radio then you probably fried the radio. Did you check all the fuses on the drivers side for the radio, all the inline fuses for the radio harness. Try running those to the battery it self and see if they come on if so then it has got to be a problem with the harness some how. What year do you have and is the radio tied to the computer?
