Actually your making the sterotypes, some that are known and some that only you would think of.

Heres my DD in my Intrigue which is very similar to the bezel on the Alero, it too is curved. I have used a Kenwood and now have this Pioneer 6800 in it now.

the unit looks plain but has alot of stuff i have it connected to my phone i talk through my stereo wirelesly i have ipod connection which is controls my ipod instead of having to use my ipod to control it has a phenominal eq and sound aux hookup sattelite either sirius or xm amongst a ton of other stuff plus its very thin so the face doesnt stick out past the dash hard to tell in pics but its very clean and flush i know i coulda got a fancier screen but this had all the bells and whistles for sound and functioning so i gave on the looks part but i thought it fit decent not too much space around the edges which i feel is a issue with these damn aleros!!!

Did you check your settings cause if my settings on my mp3 player are up to high then I will get that too. I run my MP3 player and DVD through that port and haven't had any problems. Good luck! I still like it and for it to be a common radio people always ask me where I got it from.

You don't need any fancy dancy stuff, just make sure you get the right size wire for the amperage that you are going to be running. I just don't believe in spending alot of money or wires and cabling, but if your in to looks be prepared to pay.

also, for the clicking... i know if the mp3 player has any EQ settings, they need to be turned off. most of the time those interfere with the h.u's own eq settings, and it makes it sound like crap.

Online or your local smaller shops is the best places. Best Buy carries metra also...
Dont buy the cheap walmart/schosce junk. Buy metra or american international only.

Here's mine:
Panasonic CQ-C8303U. I do not recommend it if you like to see the titles of tracks as it takes up to 15 sec just to scroll the title!
