1 MORE QUESTION pcv valve

My car is still running strong but I have one more question for automotive guys
what dos the pvc valve do my line is ok but where the pvc connects to the hose its held in by a twist tie ?? and when I pulled out I don't feel air being sucked in ? is this normal.

PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilation
PVC = Polyvinyl Chloride

It vents the crankshaft case of gases that build up pressure in the engine back into the air intake to be burned off/pumped through.

It's not *that* important, but use a real hose clamp on it.
