Rear Deck Replacement

My rear deck rattles. I've tried expanding foam and sound deadener. I have no speakers in the 6x9 holes, just the covers loosely placed (since i didn't know they're weren't supposed to come off the rear deck) where they blow up and down with the base.

Any threads from people who have done something to that back deck below the rear windshield? I dont know how to fiberglass, but thats an idea. Could the deck itself be used as a mold?

Ive considered a frame covered by light material that would allow air pressure through. I think it might look better since my interior is all fabric, and a shiny painted fiberglass deck might be out of place. I thought of using some canstrips for the back edge to fit properly?

I almost shot myself after reading AleroDrime's threads; please do not mention 'trunk ports'. I'm gonna go search google some more.

Best. First. Post. Ever.

as for your problem, I am by no means a professional in either sound OR fiberglass, however, it is to my understanding that the deck can be used as the base for a fiberglass project back there; and removing the fabric from the deck would be recommended, but not entirely necessary. (or vice versa...like I said, I'm not a professional. bdyman is your fiberglass pro on here.)

i know the trunk rattles... but the back deck?? foam/sound dampener should have fixed it... and the fact that it still does... means you didn't do the right spot.

relook, and reseat everything. I know i had some rattling back there, and come to find out, a tie down for one of the wire bundles wasn't pushed in. its quiet now.

I'm pretty sure its because of air forcing its way past the back edge. I have alot of sound dampener back there, covering wires and surfaces. That cleaned it up, but still this one rattle persists and its loud.
