Well, I guess I broke some of my exhaust hangers when I went off road and sliding into trees. Driving down I-270 last night at a nice comfortable rate of speed when I hear something rattle and bang around under the car. Theres a final very loud bang and then I hear my engine roar to life.

Ok, so my exhaust fell off, no big deal, except for the people behind me. I have an SLP cat back setup setting back at my house ready to go on anyways. I pulled over anyways just to check it out and see if it took anything else with it.

Yeah, sure did.

It wasn't from the cat back that was gone, it was the ENTIRE thing. The entire assembly from the headers / collector back was gone. The resonator, everything.

Great.

So can anybody recommend a good cat, or should I stick with an OEM replacement? What about the resonator? Get one or not?

If you have the SLP cat back you wont have a resonator unless you cut the pipes and have one put in.

GM cats are really high flowing as it is. I'd stick with OEM.

You lost your ENTIRE exhaust from the collector down? Thats hilarious man... did you at least get it off the road? That'll f*** up somebody else's car bad if they run an entire exhaust system over...

Yep, the entire thing back.

And no. I didn't get it out of the road. I was in the middle of a 3 lane interstate, I got over to the right as quick as I could, but there wasn't anything I could do.

Hence why I said it sucked for the people behind me.

OEM cat. Less likley to run into problems. No resonator. SLP piping reqiers that engine suffocating peice of crap to be discarded.

Only bad thing is....once u have the slp on....lol, ur car will sound quiet.(even tho it will be rather raspy to everyone else)

oem may flow as good as a "highflow" cat, but oem is ALOT of money isn't it? i picked up a highflow one for my last car for like $50, i already had a cai and a exhaust on it, then i added a highflow unit and noticed a good increase in torque and hp, but that was a 95 aurora with 115k, so apples to oranges......

but id still go carsounds, just for the money you'll save.
