blower motor gone bad??

my heat/ac only blows on the number 2 and 3 setting. and this winter at times it made a noise when running that sounded like a fan blade hitting something. kinda hard to explain but it vibrated the crap out my dash area and now it only blows air on certain settings. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance!

Blower motor resistor...there's many threads on it already, and I believe a how-to on replacing it.

if you want, just for kicks pull it apart and check to make sure the fan is in place tightly. also, i know this sounds really unlikely, but had a fuse burn out just enough that my 2nd and 3rd setting would work and the others weren't getting enough voltage through to do anything. it was a big surprise to me because i changed the fuse just for kicks and it really fixed the problem.
