Fog Lights
I'm not sure how or when... but i noticed the other day I'm missing a fog light. As in... the housing was gone.
After a bit of searching, it was pushed WAY back into the car and covered in ice. I'm not sure if something bounced up off the road or what. But the plastic it was mounted to... it was still mounted to. (black plastic molding snapped right off)
The wires are all still intact, but I definitely can't mount a factory light back in there. (unless that black plastic guard is easily replaced?) So I was wondering about new foglight options. I've never even looked at whats available. I know my current fog housings have a crack down the center of each one, so the bulbs tend to corrode out in about a year from moisture. Which is even more encouragement to change them.
And if I'm changing them, why not go HID, since I drive at night, often. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for?? 35W @ 3000k will be the bulbs. I want to stick with the standard (non retarded blue) And I'll probably get the DDM ones, since I have no reason to spend alot of money on these...
But the housings I'm kinda lost on...

I know here Canadian tire ( like your autozone etc ) has some projector type style fog lights that would easly be able to install with a HID kit as its more then long enough of a housing

Yes and no. Both housings are cracked in the front and need to be replaced. So I figure I'll buy something new and get HIDs for them while I'm at it.
So I'm looking for opinions on style/places to get new ones.

No i'm not saying Matt is a ricer...he has a good balance of Function and form, however lots of kids these days, just go out and buy yellow fogs cause they are "super JDM yo!" and then you see all these cars on the interstate with that nasty yellow glare...just bugs the hell out of me...

The after market fogs I had on the Alero were bright white, never had a problem with them, IMHO it is primarily how you aim them

Andysautosport.com has factory ones for it either 40 a piece or 40 a pair and they also have ones that are like stock but the center of the fog light is black and rest of it is clear

I just put HIDs in my fogs last night. I have been running 4300k HIDs in my lows for a little of a year now. I bought 4300k slim-ballast HIDs and the ballast made the color of the 4300k bulbs bluer than the regular ballasts I had in my lows. I swapped out the 4300k bulbs in my lows for some 5000k bulbs and they matched up pretty well (I tried swapping bulbs to see if it was the bulbs - it's def the ballast changing the color). Something to keep in mind when doing this. I'm not a big fan of the blue tint to the 5000k bulbs.. I like the pure white of the 4300k but I'd rather be uniform and consistent then be running blue-ish fogs on white lights.
Also... I noticed that the output of the HIDs in the fog light it's pretty crappy... even after aiming them pretty well. The beam pattern just doesn't seem to work with the stock housing.. kind of disappointing.

i think i know what you are saying.
i want Nice fog lights that will fit right in the same space.
not the normal replacements or generic ones.
personally, i would love some big bright lights.
--------
here in wisconsin, we cannot run yellow fogs unless conditions call for it.

That has to do with the way the light is emitted from the original halogen (radial) versus the HID (axial).
