fog light hid question

OK I am getting hids for the fog light were is the best place to mount the ballasts.

I mounted mine just above the fog light, however the ballast got water in them and blew the fuse for the fog lights

the best place depends on cable length
you want it near the bulbs, but away from anything.

The location were the headlights ballasts are mounted most of the times seems pretty good. (look in sticky I think)

I have mine mounted on the bumper just beneath the headlight housing, above the fog light.. No a good place as redog said water gets in there. On the other side i had water issues so i moved the ballast up closer to the battery but it was on the wall next to where you put windshield washer fluid.

well i have aftermarket fogs so i bought the h3 hid kit but i am pretty sure the stock fog bulb size is 894.

Yes that's the correct bulb but they don't sell a 894 HID so I ordered 880's but I'm unsure if they'll work.... Anyone care to help me out on this?

880 will work, that base bulb has many derivatives, of which 894 is one.
