I work at an auto parts store part-time and one of our regulars says he can get me a 3800 supercharged swap for only $2200. After looking at different forced induction options for the 3400, it looks like the swap to the 3.8 would be the cheapest way to go. I know a good deal about GM cars, and their motors, but I don't really know how extensive this swap would need to be. It's almost seems too cheap to be true. comments??

Either way, sounds like a good deal! I wouldn't be suprised if your car ended up in a garage for months trying to get it working though...

yeah, if 2200 is the parts and installed price, good deal but I don't think it is. If that's just the price of the engine it's gonna cost you several more thousand fabricating mounts, new tranny, halfshafts, wiring, computers, etc....

I didn't get a chance to talk with the guy too much because we were very busy, but I plan on talking about it more next time he comes in. From what it sounded like, I think it was for everything, and the guy doing it has already performed a few of them. I'll talk to him more later and get more info.

if this guy has done them for an alero so far, then he needs to start helping other people who are trying to do swaps and have been trying in the past, cause most of the time its not that easy and they have problemswith getting it to work right, so no offence but any kind of engine swap isnt gonna be just that easy
