no offence man but it's kinda your fault.Â;-) If you can get them cleaned up then more power to you but its not looking in your favor.Â;-) You might have to start looking for some new ones.

kinda my fault? it's totally my fault - no one is questioning that...

as for worst case scenario - i'll powercoat the lip to match the spokes. no biggey, cuz i aint getting new rims - i like em too much

I dont know about where you live but around my area, you can get 17" rims powdercoated for $60-$70 a wheel. Pretty good deal for an all new look if you ask me.

about the clear coat... you can go to the auto parts store (one that sells paint)... and i've seen pre-pressurized cans... like spray cans... that you can do a 2 stage clearcoat and fill them yourself and spray something... that way you can get the strong finish without a hvlp gun and compressor...

I am not sure but you might want to check it out. Around here (ND) at a place that washes semi-tractors, or like a semi parts place they do acid washes on the aluminum parts of trucks (fuel tanks, wheels, trailer frames) and the stuff turns out amazing (we've had it done). So you might want to go check that out, however, I don't know what it will do to you powder coating it doesn't seem to affect the paint on semis so?

That damage doesn't really surprise me too much. I have some ADR wheels (same company) on my beretta and the finish is probably just about equally as crappy. They hold up a little better because i don't drive it in the winter, but it definitely showed when i accidentally dropped one!!

so today i picked up my rims.. i took em to a shop to get the lip grinded down and poilished.. they look perfect now.. but cost a pretty penny.. .. so case closed. pain in the ass. dumb mistake. ah well live and learn.. can't wait to put em on..

-> general rule for anyone leaving their rims with someone else - KEEP Your rim caps with you.. just in case whomever is working on your rims looses em..

thx for those who responded with useful info
