Painting the Plenum

Ok everyone, I want to paint my Intake Plenum. Any suggestions on what brand/type of paint to use? I know that the high temp paint would be top of the list, any input? I was thinking of painting it green, to match my exterior, leaving the 3400 and letters aluminum.

That is a good way to go, but taking it off to paint it is best.

Trust me, overspray sucks

You could powercoat it, but you'll be carless until it gets done

definately take it off first. as for paint you really cant beat Duplicolor's high heat engine enamel. I used it to highlight the 3400 on my engine and it worked perfectly.

VHT flameproof paint is the highest temp resistant you can get and in comes in lots of colors. But on my 2.4 when i painted the letters on the ign. cover black, i just used regular 99 cent walmart spray paint. nice and shiny and its been on there for oveer a year, still no cracks of flakes in the paint.

Removal

I'll definitely be removing it for painting. I've got a new set of gaskets I'll throw in there, since I have them anyway. Anyone know if gasket-matching the plenum and the intake would provide any benefit? I've got a Dremel wanting some action.

Yeah it will help.

Companies sell that for $200 for a set of upper and lower intakes
