Push button start
Do they make something like what Porshe and Mercades have, where you dont even need a key. Once you are in the car, you hit your button to start. Just wondering if a kit is out there?

aftermath MADE his own. its not that hard to do... just wiring and relays, and a couple switches.
i think what bizarre is after, is a unit that will sense when the key is w/in range and respond accordingly.
to which, i haven't seen...yet.

yeah it's probably not a good idea to be able to turn on your car by just pushing a button
unless you want it stolen real easily

which is why you have a power button, to the ignition, hidden somewhere discreet... so you have to push/hold that, while hitting the start key....
but i agree... w/o some kind of security feature, its not too safe. (the reason why i haven't done it)

wow... those vents look horrible.
but thats exactly what i would try to avoid. unless you have a killswitch somewhere.... my car would get jacked in no time w/ a setup like that.

what about the system the corvettes have? it'd be expensive but you could prolly buy that system and retrofit it.

That's what it looks like, but I don't know for sure, I just posted a link.... but you'll def. need a key for the door, unless you want to leave it unlocked and with a push-start.... resulting in> theft.

i dont remember who i bought them off of, but i bought a bunch of interior piece from various people and going to repaint it once i finish glassing my doors and dash
and BTW, you need switches hooked up to relays to power various things for your car (such as fuel pump, radio, etc.)

To be more specific... I got to drive a Porshe cayanne and a benz cl600 a couple years ago and all you need to do is be in the car with the "key" and hold a button on the shift knob and it would start. The key is really jus like a remote door unlocker. No actual key is involved. Its all sensor technology I believe. Wether its secure or not... I could car less. No one wants to steal my car, and if so... good luck with it!

Eh-Nigma also did something similar, I think you have to hide the key cylinder somewhere with the key in it at the start position.

i believe hes talking about something like this....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyless_Go
(i tried getting the animation from mercedes, but they actually have intelligent people design their sites to prevent that)
and good lord, would that be alot of work to retrofit, not to mention a BUTTLOAD of money.
