WAI question

I'm just curious about the Warm Intake Systems... I have CAI right now, but it's just going to be a major pain to clean it.... So I am thinking about the Warm Air Intake. Would I expect about the same performance as a cold air intake??? and should I get one of those heat sheilds for it??

you will probably feel no difference. And dont waist your money buying one just modify your cai into a wai. If you dont like it you can always just switch it back.

the only thing i can see being different is the sound b/c of where the filter is located but other than that, there shouldnt be any difference in responce time

Well, both peices have an angle on them so I think I'm gonna need new piping... I'm going to keep this setup though in case I want to switch back. And I'm going to get a piece to replace the rubber hose part where the sensor is... Thanks for the info though!

the difference between the cold and warm intake is that cold gives you better high end torque and a warm gives you better low end torque.

yeah a couple days ago i changed mine out from a cold air intake. the only down side to it is that you do lose some top end, but you do gain in the bottom also. just depends on where you want your power. i dont feel like the car is slower. and also the sound is not as good with a WAI, its deeper with the cold air. but the CAI is a bitch to clean up and when i took mine off one day after a big rain there was water all over the thing and some had actually gotten inside of the filter.
