Thanks overdrive. Not that I'm defending the kid. His nitrous most likely WAS a big cause, and now he is gonna get GM to flip the bill, but I just wanted to hear one of the "your screwed but I don't REALLY know why" people answer.
Yeah, I can't say I agree with him in essentially scamming GM, I mean he put nitrous on the car, he knew the risks, the risks won, and now he thinks GM should foot the bill. In my mind that isn't right, but what can I say or do. If you are gonna do something to your car that you know can be distructive to the engine, you should have to pay the piper, when all hell decides to break loose as it did in this case.

I mean I am sorry it blew, but hey, that's what can happen when you play with NOS.

Hmm...yep, when the little needle goes into the red, that ain't good.

I'm kinda glad the V6 didn't have a stick option in a way, cause I know I'd be redlining that sucker all the time.

Hey all I have to say is find a cheap replacement like out of a junkyard or ebay then build up your lown engine so you can feed the nitrous no problem and maybe spank the porches w/o nos

well first of all the car hasnt even seen a full bottle before, I sprayed the NX for 2 runs at the track and the Zex was only used twice also...the engine has seen about 1 minute of nitrous in its entire life.. I've restored the car back to completely stock, right down to the original, nitrous free, spark plugs..oh and that video was taken before the car had any major mods, just an intake

I doubt it, you're screwed. With all the friends you made in the GTA, being very blatant about your street racing , I would not be surprised a little birdy calls all the local GM dealerships and gives em a heads up.

What does you mom think of her blown engine?

What did he do wrong in the video? Just because the tach turns "red" at 6000rpm, doesnt mean anything. Our engines have a 6500rpm redline folks, my transmission shifts at 6500rpm from the factory (automatic). I run out 1st gear in the city to 6000-6500rpms at least once or twice every time I take it out, even when just going to school or whatever... he had'nt done anything wrong in the video...

As for running some nitrous through it well... thats why the rod took a poop :P
And what were you doing when the engine blew? Did you miss a gear or anything like that? They'll be able to tell you were spraying if they take a look at it, but good luck trying to get them to foot the bill.

well GM can't find the reason for the failure, so they are covering it under my extended warranty. I even get to keep the 2 pistons that I fried as souvenirs :P

I doubt he's lying about them tearing it apart and covering it. It don't take long to tear a motor apart, esp if you know what you're doing (my top end was pulled apart and rebuilt in a few hours). As for them covering it, that's kinda what I thought, figured they would if he removed the bottle. I think its BS that he got a new motor cuz he was a twit but what can I do about it? GM is the biggest auto company on earth so a new motor is not really gonna break em. I'm just gonna remember who scammed GM for a new engine, case they want help from me h34r:
