Natural radar...you got me on that one, don't know what that is. If you are talking about radar the police use in there cars...you can find those on ebay..of course they are older, and USED. If you are talking about my keen sense to know where they are...I use a scanner..LOL

Here's a little info for anyone interested!

It puts a thin tint coat on all the lights in the front and rear, and also the license plate, and is suppose to absorb laser. Its to expensive for my blood.

VEIL FTL

Absorbing the laser by tinting a headlight is bad idea

I said tint because I couldn't think of anything else to call it but all the research I've done on it says that it works. Its not a noticeable tint from what I can see but who knows. I'll never buy it. LOL

I thought they almost all user lasers these days. At least on the TV show Speeders, it's usually laser, not radar.

Not really all depends on where you live. Some states are running radar exclusively and some are running strictly Ka band, and believe it or not some are still using x band and k band. Then you have states that use photo enforcement, and a combination of radar and laser. The majority of the police agencies in the country are using ka band, then you have some that are starting to intergrate POP-radar.

Most opt not to use laser because you have to be stationery for it to be effective and hold in court.

old time thread revival, but i just bought a new Cobra XRS-9955 for $120 off a discount site. anybody have any personal experience with theses? the online reviews are kinda mixed, but the overall consensus seems to say they work good. obviously not as good as a V1, but those were a lil (ok, a lot) out of my price range for a first detector, even used they were 200+.

I got the cobra (something) at radio shack with 12 band radar.. the only problem I have with it is that I got pulled over a couple weeks ago and got a ticket for speeding 15over in a 55 got off with only 5over and the officer saw that I had an expired license.. So he gave me a big break seeing how it was my first misdemeanor and didnt take me to jail... So that was kool.. and all I got was 115 for speeding and 110 for license expiration lucky me LOL

By the way he never had me at 70 he just saw me break hard and lied about 70, I was going 67

The escort 8500 X50 is an awesome detector, its saved me many times over the last 4 or 5 years. Only downside is its detectable, the undetectable ones are over 500 bux!

yea i was looking at the escort 9500 too, but it was too expensive. mine says its undetectable to the v2 and spectre detectors, but on the radar busters reviews it got detected so i dunno. guess when i get it i'll try it out n write a review myself here.

yea BS fine its like 90 here where I live I was on vacation and got the tickets so I just paid them rather than take time off to get them waived which I could have but its only a hassle to drive 90miles north and back just for 225 in fines

Ya they r illegal here, pain in the but having to unplug it when ya see a cop, must confuse the hell out of them, they must think they get false alerts all the time, just have to be careful when using it and don't abuse it by going stupidly fast, its good for the camera vans that park on the side of the road or radar on the highways(at night they will pop you and watch you slam on your brakes and then know you have a detector). They do quite a bit of laser in the city when they do the speed traps at parks and school zones or just anywhere sometimes, you can't really expect your detector to save you from laser unless you get lucky....most law enforcement are trained now to know what a jammer will do to the laser when they track you. $1000 fine here if your caught and you lose the detector, plus a speeding ticket if they actually got you doing that as well. LOL I picked up radar once the 34.467 highway patrol approx 4 or 5 km away once on a straight highway, I can also pick em up over hills etc...its pretty sensitive.

The only place radar detectors are illegal in the US are like VA and DC. Laser diffusers are another story. I run a Passport 9500ix, in the other car, very few false alarms and pays for itself very quickly.
