how much oil in the 2.4 engine. im changing the oil in my grandmas alero tomororw and its a 2.4.

i believe it is like 4.5 quarts with filter and everything.

i have put 5 quarts in and it fills it up about 1/8 of inch past the full mark on the dipstick.

I fill up about 4.5 quarts using Fram filter. I go slighty more becasue when you corner hard the oil light comes on and the chime annoys me
