Hazmatt, I really like that tone from your exhaust, All that from a super 40 in the back?

2.5 inch cat back and the 40. Just walked into an exhaust shop one day and they were dead and the dude was like $180, I'll have it on in an hour
It seemed pretty loud inside too, it took some getting used to

speaking of headers, Pacesetter is here in Phoenix, but it would cost me more to go get one straight from their warehouse than it would to order one from Summit. I'm thinking about getting one soon, I just been feeling lazy

Would I need to replace my 02 sensor if I am installing a new header?

Yes, you will need a heated o2 sensor because you will throw a p0133 code without it.

I didn't know that! Good thing you asked xstrong...that's the troubling thing with these mods, without knowing the ins and outs, there's always a risk...

The 2.4 is the only one without the heated sensor...
This thread is in the 3400 section btw.

I'm actually exploring the option of a custom pipe and aftermarket muffler. Any good combinations and pipe sizes?

2.5" either from the headers back, or from the cat back, into either a Single Flowmaster 80 w/ Dual outlets, or 2 Flowmaster Super 40's (or 44). Trust me you will love the sound. And if u have the V6 what is wrong with the S&S Headers.

I've been thinking about getting an aftermarket exhaust system for my 2000 3.4L V6, but I'm really confused with all the different parts, brands, combinations, and the resulting sounds.
From what I gather I can replace the headers > catalytic converter > pipes > muffler > tips.
Headers: Borla, S&S, TOG, or Pacesetter
Cat: Magnaflow, Borla, Catco, or Pacesetter
Muffler: Magnaflow, Flowmaster 80/40/44, Dynomax, or SLP
Can anyone recommend a setup with pipe diameters for me? I'm also planning on going for dual-outlets and modifying the bumper if it makes any difference. I'm thinking about leaving the headers alone for now but if they're needed for a nice, deep sound I'll save up some more.
Lastly, how much should I plan on spending and what reputable sites/places should I purchase from?
Thanks.

You can actually find most of that information from reading the thread itself...but it really is user choice. Only use a pacesetter exhaust for the 3.4 and never on the 2.4. Headers will improve performance the most from my understanding but they are not available for the 3.4 right now. I asked the same questions and I found the answers by youtubing videos of how each exhaust set up sounded.
