SSBC Performance Brakes?
Has anybody ever installed any brake systems or even just swapped out OE rotors for their drilled and slotted ones from SSBC Performance Brakes?
Were there any differences? Was the quality good?

Yeah, I was more interested in the front brakes for the moment.

They're expensive... You can upgrade to significantly better than stock for much less money and better parts availability.

^this. Use a 98-02 f-body caliper bracket....a caliper from either a grand prix gxp, 97-04 (I think) vette, 98-02 camaro, 04+ gto, cadillar xlr, there r more I'm sure but that's all I got on the top of my head....00-05 impala rotor, and then the pads from whatever caliper u choose. The impala rotors are just a hair over 12". N ur rear brakes u can swap over from a gxp grand prix's rear and then ull have 12" rear brakes.

Ok, thanks for the info guys. That's pretty much what I was looking for, was to see if they were worth bothering with or not.

Why is this? I would think that it would be easier to go to it from a stock disc brake set up.

Actually the pads have to match the bracket. So they need to be 98-02 F-Body pads. I've had this setup on my car for over 5 years now (it was the first one as far as I know).
There is a set in the works to use the C5/C6 rotor and pads as well, but that's still a bit off in the future as of right now.

Has to do with the way they have the caliper mounting.. It interferes with the stock caliper mount.

Yeah, I think if I were to upgrade my brakes I'd probably do the Impala rotors and Camaro bracket and calipers instead of the Corvette calipers. I'm sure the Camaro calipers are more than enough of an upgrade compared to the stockers. Worst is I'd have to uprade to 16" plus wheels. I've only got 15's.
And seeing as you've been running them for 5+ years, how is the wear on them? Is it better than the stockers? In other words do the pads and rotors last for more than a year?

idk how the clearance is with the alero wheels but i know with the grand ams there are only one or two sets of stock 16's that will clear the brakes...and as for the calipers, all the calipers i mentioned above are pretty much the same (only thing that makes them so nice is they are dual piston) u can get camaro calipers for cheap at ne auto parts store. the vette, xlr, gto, and gxp u can get embossed with the logo or name on the face of the caliper and it looks better in my opinion. and with the corvette calipers u can get them from GM already powdercoated torch red and has corvette embossed on them. im pretty sure they are only embossed if u get them directly through GM or GMpartsdirect.com....

Rotors are the same ones I put on 48,000 miles ago... Pads have been replaced once.

i couldn't find much difference between the grand prix rear calipers, and the alero, except the alero calipers are aluminum and the grand prixs arent. they fit in the same brackets, and even use the same brake pad.

Yeah, I work at a NAPA Auto Parts store so parts are pretty cheap. I could definately due without the powdercoated calipers.

Yeah, that's a lot better than what I've accomplished so far. I think it's only been around or a little above 20,000 miles out of the stockers.
