Upper Intake Mani Help.
Sup guys my alero is a 99 and a couple years ago the motor was replaced with a '00 3400. When I picked up the engine the UIM was noticably different so the mechanic just swapped over the '99 plenum and it was good to go. Mechanic kept the '00 plenum btw. But just recently my bro in law gave me a 3100 plenum w/TB and EGR from an '02 malibu.
Is my lower intake ('00) compatible with the '02 plenum? What can I do about the EGR, it is different can I just get the pipe off a 3x00 with the same type of EGR valve, or should I should delete it? I have HPTuners btw, but im still basically a newb at tuning so if you can help me delete it I would appreciate it.

Using HP Tuners, set your EGR enable to MAX temp so it never kicks in. Then in the DCT table, scroll down through the list and set any DTC that references the the EGR to "3, no error reported" Save it and then flash it to the car. Then with the sensor unpluged or removed start and drive the car. Look for any DTC's to come on. If you do get any, just take note of it and then go back into the tune and remove that DTC that the car is showing. In mine I had to remove P0401, P0403, P404, P0405 and P1404

Thank you sounds great will I have any problems with the car leaning out with the EGR delete? This is my wifes daily driver and I want it to be reliable as possible but with a little more power. Ive tweaked my '04 Eco Cavy but compared to the Alero the PCMs are two different animals.

Nope, and once you get a log and a tune down, post it up and we'll have a look and see what you have going.
