passlock? Theftlock? I have no clue

So I swapped a head unit today, everything was fine. I went to take my key out of the cylinder and it wouldn't budge, it was suck between off and acc. It starts, drives, runs and everything with the security light on but it wont let me put the key to the off position and I am now able to take the key out while it is running.
So the current state is security light is ON constantly, and I can not turn my car to the OFF position.

did you tap into the wires running to the ignition for the install?

Try pressing the brake and wiggling the wheel? it works for mine.

If it won't turn to off but freely to any other position, it's definatley the shifter.

Talk about screwing up hahaha, Yeah, so take off the shifter cover, then theres the guts of the shifter assembly, there was a screw that i droped down there, blocked the key release cable, its all sorts of fixed now! Currentally at 170000 Miles, still going strong!
Case Closed.

Wow! I cease to be amazed at our site guys! I was resigned to replacing my ignition switch because it wouldn't turn off completely and I just assumed it was worn out. In reading this thread looking for how to prgram the passlock and seeing the jiggling of the shifter, I remember that at times after replacing my stock shifter handle with a brake handle knob that I recall years ago somebody mentioning was a cool mod that periodically one of the set screws loosens up and I have to tighten it. Gotta get some lock tight on those damn set screws! Just went out and jiggled the shifter and walla! The key turns off completely! The shifter handle must have gotten loosened up enough that the ignition didn't register it was in Park and wouldn't turn all the way off. Now THAT was a close one! Thanks all!
