Tip Help

i bought the super 44's 2.5in opp inlet 2.5in center outlet. and 2,5inch tip wasn't thinking when i got home. The tips are supposed to slide over the muffler outlet correct? well on summit.com the next size up from 2.5inch is 2.750 inch is that to big to weld on?

they have adapters at most hardware stores to go from one size inlet to the next, and can be attached by exhaust clamps. Thats how I have always fixed exhaust leaks in all my other cars just by cutting about 2-3 inches of the pipe off wherever the hole is and putting in an adapter with exhaust clamps.

thanks, well natey just told me that they would grind/sand down the muffler outlet hole to make smaller so the tip can fit snug over it and then weld. because a quarter inch is big i think

You can get tube expanders, AND "make smallers". Might be an idea??

The muffler is 2.5" ID as is your tip. You either need to expand one side, or use a small piece of pipe to connect them together.

Do this in this order
  1. Get muffler installed
  2. use a tape measure
  3. figure out where you want the tip to be
  4. write measurement down
  5. get money
  6. go to store
  7. pick out a tip
  8. go back to exhaust shop
  9. get it installed
  10. drive car home
Or the other way you could go is
  1. get muffler installed
  2. ask shop what kind of tips they have
  3. make a deal
  4. get them put on right there
