highway racing is gay. if you cant prove what your car can do in 1/4 mile at the TRACK then it doesnt need proven.

Ugh and he's from NC. Okay, first off you want to street race...thats a no no. Don't be a dumbass. Thats a good way to get a nice hefty fine that "imporper equipment" wont fix or even better get dead or the worst case, get somebody else dead. Its route 77, not the autobahn and as pretty as the blue ridge parkway is and how it has nice tight curves, speed should be used in moderation. The car has a speed limiter for a specific reason, its called "safety".
anyhow, welcome to the mod and lets just let this little topic die off and start thinking with your brain and not your ego. Its an Alero, and its slow...case closed.

we dont discuss or condone street racing here. if someone is dumb enough to want to go over 108 on the interstate, why would you give them the gun to kill themselves and others with?
now for the technical. there is no "governor" that is removable as a device. speed regulation is controlled in the main computer by cutting injectors, and that has to be programmed out by either aftermarket programmed computer or buying a PowrTuner that allows YOU to reprogram it.

yeh. 30 over is a felony, and im very lucky i didnt get charged. i was going 79 in a 45 at 4:30 am on the way to work at my old job. He wrote my ticket for that amount... they offered to reduce it in court but i took the pjc cuz i couldnt have a second ticket on my insurance at 18-19 years old.
He just wrote me the ticket, and i headed off to work again!

Here in NY I beleive it is 40 mph over the speed limit your car is impounded and taken straight to the courthouse in front of a judge. You loose your license for a year and get wacked with a $1000 fine. I was street racing my buddy this summer and we both got clocked at 110mph and the trooper passsed me to catch my friend and pulled him over. Luckly he got away with it with no ticket or nothing at all. The trooper just asked for my phone number and i received a nasty phone call from him.
