Very Nice! Wish I could see them this weekend though. Did you find a set of wheels that would work with them?

well, this should at least solve that pesky "no traction till half-way through third gear" problem at least. Lets see how well the axles and clutches hold now LOL

That's what I've been wondering, what can these axles handle

I got nothing to base them on. I haven't heard any reports on Milzy's '65 swap axles yet, guess we'll find out. Be nice if he sent me the freakin rear trans mount I've had ordered since February.

I don't trust 114.3mm on a 115mm hub. Do you need anything else besides this ARP stud? I can ship it out tomorrow but figured I should ask. I don't have any rear trans mounts, sorry

Can't think of anything else I need Ben, unless you have some 15x7 or wider rims laying around.
I did a search and a website (one James posted above) shows '97+ Malibu rims are 15x7, so I'll go to the parts yard today and see if they are right.

we could have gone with the 16's, but the tires are $100 more per, and that gets expensive after replacing a few sets.
Easier to just go through the pain of finding the 15" rims and be done with it. I'm thinking I'll hit the parts yard up today for a set of '97+ Malibu's that are supposed to be 15x7 and call it a day.
Later when I have more leisure time I'll work on 15x8's.

Ok, just got back from the parts yard and they say Malibu rims are listed as 15x6 and not 15x7. (saw it on their computer).
what the hell?
Also, in that web page listed above, Alero rims (98+ ??) are listed as all 16x7.
Now I'm lost.

Hey black... I got my mickey thompson 26x8.5 mounted on stock alero 15 in rims and everything fits, why do you need wider rims than that and how many psi will you run on those ??

... Might not be the cheapest, but it could be exactly what you want...

I don't really care what they look like to tell the truth. But that bothers me with that much difference in width from patch to bead under this much torque.
How much psi? Well, that depends. I was running 15psi before, but my compression ratio is now a little higher, so I won't know until I finish tuning.

when you go to the junk yard, take a measuring tape, and physically measure the width of the malibu rims.
both websites list the mali rims as 15x7, the junk yard computer is the one thats different? discount tire has them listed as 15x6 also.
