Broken belts in tires will make the same noise believe it or not.

the tires are newer yokahoma tires...with probably 5K miles it couldnt be the tires.....so i would assume the struts...but when i had the mounts put on they seemed fine for about a couple miles then i started hearing the clunking again...do you think it is struts then ?
