Im more concerned about things being correct than the over aesthetics of the install. On the flip side Im not trying to put something all beat up in my car.
Therefore I want to get these cleaned up.

i know neos are much stronger and smaller... but terribly more expensive. i was just wondering if that was what that speaker had.

Over the weekend I made it to the junk yard. I finally got my trunk trim piece! Im actually so happy to get one! lol The one way in the back where the latch is.
Man that was ugly... Now I got the trim
I was able to do some measuring and thinking tonight. I need to get to Wal mart for Styrofoam balls... And other misc stuff. Need fiberglass resin and mat. Might buy it online though, dunno yet.
For those wanting Kick Panels. I will be buying the stuff this weekend. I should have 5.25" kickpods read in about 2 weeks then. If you want the 6.5" -6.75" version its going to be a few weeks after that maybe. Although Im very motivated to get those done as its what I need also!

Well its been a month so time for some updates:
1) The entire rear of the car is now covered in sound dampening. Ive noticed its quieter than ever, and I dont have it fully assembled yet either- so it will only get better.
2) Ive thought long and hard about the kick panels. Ive decided to NOT pursue them. Reason 1) I dont have any grilles for my speakers and cant find any! 2) The alero is already cramped for me. I dont want to loose anymore leg/foot room. I now intend to go with door pods to replace the factory ugliness. I will cover them in gray vinyl.
3) Ive started my fiberglass box. I started to wrap it in speaker grill cloth and found out my base board needs to be reworked. So I have to pull it all apart, cut up a new board and re hot glue the dowels on. Then get my styrofoam balls in position. Right now my base board is a rectangle. Given the proximity of the ring, my covering has wrinkles- large ones. And that wont work... so I gotta reshape the base board some.
Im shooting blind/educated guess for 2.25 Cubic feet or so.

Ive always loved soundstream's old school quality stuff. I think if i was you, I would keep the amps in the condition they are in. I wouldnt want to cover up their nostalgic logos or lettering. I had been SPL12s and a rubicon for years.
