Power Cable to Amp

Hey whats the best way to run it in an alero, and would it be stupid to attach the cable to that positive thing by the fuse box

Just run it from the battery. I made a small x cut in my steering column boot and ran a wire hanger thru there. Find the hanger in the engine and tape the end of wire to the hanger. Then pull it thru the hole. Running it down the driver side seemed easiest

Honestly man, if you think its ok to run it from the "positive fuse thing" I'd advise highly about having a professional install this. If you must do it yourself then please follow these instructions.

Make sure you lugs on it

Run it from the positive on the battery, then within 12" from the battery, have an inline fuse or circuit breaker. Run it through the firewall (drill a new hole if necessary) and put a rubber grommet around the hole so over time the wire doesnt short something. Keep the wire going on the drivers side and RCA cables on your passenger side. Run it under the back seats, and into the trunk. When grounding your amp use THE SAME GAUGE WIRE. Some people think the ground isnt important but it is just as important as the power.

And for God sakes if any of your friends tell you to run the power through your door I give you permission to bitch slap them.

I ran my 1/0 through a grommet I think the top one on the drivers side. when you push a wire hanger through it you should see it comeout by the fusebox. I used pliers and grabbed it.

Do you know what load your going to wire those subs to? What ohms are the subs and are they dual voice coil?

I've run wires through the door before
It works OK just make sure they don't get caught in the hinge. Later on you'll be pissed though, I suggest going for running through the firewall.

You can attach to either the battery or the lug where the LARGE wire enters the UNDERHOOD fuse box.

The system in my alero was the first one i'd ever done, and installed in around 2hours... I think it's simple enough for a money to figure out.

Fastest, easiest, and safest way is to just drill a new hole and put a rubber gromet in it....saves a hell of alot of time. installing an amp is the easiest thing in the world to do, but if you screw something up you could damage not only the amp, but the car's electrical system as well. If you have any doubts in your ability to safely install any equipment...seek a professional out and watch how they do it....once you see it then you shouldn't have problem afterwards. It would be very unwise to attach the main power for the amp to the positve post in the fuse block...very unwise.

As far as wiring here is an end all chart:
Attachment 5880

x3 drill new hole for system and install at battery with appropriate fuse. I used line out converters tapped at the rear speaker and haven't had any problems.

If you don't have to drill a new hole dont. I can take a picture of how I have my wire run if you want to see. it is really easy. flat head screwdriver to pop a hole in the grommet. metal coat hanger to tape wire to and pull through. LMK if you want pictures.

I can take a picture from the inside of the car if you really need it. It';s just a pain in the ass to pull that clip out.
