tranny flush or tranny service????

before i took my car to bodykits, i read in the manual that my car needed a transmission service. is there a difference between a transmission service and a transmission flush?? cuz when i went to the dealer, they said they wouldnt do a transmission flush to the alero, but didnt tell me why.

A flush changes ALL the fluid, a regular tranny service changes 1/3 to 1/2 of the fluid. You do not want a flush because transmissions can become accustomed to old fluid, and changing all the fluid at once can shock the tranny, and possibly damage it. You want a regular transmission service, where some of the fluid is changed plus the filter changed, by removing the transmission pan.
