Broken window regulator question

So my drivers side window finally busted. The passenger side broke in 2005 while the car was still under warranty. The dealership told me that the new window motors are different and require a new regulator which is going to run me like $200. Does anyone know if this regulator thing might have been taken care of when the passenger side broke in 05? Is there anyway I can get these parts for cheaper? The less money in this situation the better.

gmpartsdirect.com is where I've been getting everything window related recently. I was told the same thing about a new design on the windows but was quoted $800 to replace everything :/ Dealerships just suck..
