I tried doing a search but of course came up with nothing.

I am helping a friend out with his Alero and he has a ASE chip that he wants to install. The only problem is, I don't remember where the computer is or how to remove it.

Yeah, I found it. Under the stearing wheel below the kick plate. It appears to me that ASE must be actually removing the stock chip (on this Alero everything is soldered down so I cannot remove the stock chip) and soldering in the new one.

The chip we are trying to use was bought used complete with the daughterboard. We hoped that we could simply snap it into place but obviously not -- unless I am missing something. Anyone?

soldering is required for sure... and don't count on ASE giving you installation instructions for free (or at all)
