Sorry maybe its the 2.2 that doesnt have one? Im not sure im a v6 guy. Someone will chime in.
A maf sensor is connected somewhere on the intake. Usually pretty close to the throttle body..

There is a short section of vacuum line that runs from the throttle body to the map sensor. On my friends it was falling apart and could be your problem. If not it could still lead you to the sensor.

Oh MAP Sensor???
you said MAF sensor, with an F, not a P.
Yes the car has a MAP sensor, but not a MAF.

MAF= mass air flow
MAP= manifold absolute pressure
All V6 Aleros have both, but the twin cam and ecotec Aleros use the MAP sensor to check air flow.

On the 2.4, there is an IAT (Intake Air Temperature) Sensor that is plugged in to the intake piping after the air filter, before the throttle body. There are also some vacuum lines near the throttle body that were cracked on my 2.4. They were pretty simple to replace.
