seconded

when i bought my alero, past 120 the car would shake, then past 130 my trac off light went on, and wouldn't turn off till i turned off and turned the car back on. it wasn't drivable past 130. after i got my tires balanced the car reached 170 without any wobbles and shakes, felt pretty solid actually.

and having round tires help. i know that sounds dumb, but since i ripped a few ebrakes on pacement my tires are a little flat on one spot, now it had issues going past 130 again

I had to get outer tie rod ends and an alignment to stop my shake.

Mine shakes between 75 & 85 and got new tires & rims and still shakes and now I need struts so I hope that will get rid of the vibration.

How much does it cost to get the tires balenced?

well if you get new tires most of the time free, but a vague guess is 15-30 a wheel...maybe

got a Town Fair tire around there? get a full alignment and balance for like 70$

and it's a 4 wheel, not the two wheel BS

*If you trust them*, a Wal-Mart supercenter with the Tire and Lube services will balance your tires for $5 USD each. Or you can do a life-time balance for $7.50. They do rotations and what not as well for just as cheap. It's at least worth checking out.

Turns out, however, they won't mount a new tire on a rim with a damaged lip though because it's "too dangerous".
