Ya you better be there. And BlackJack and DOHC_tuner. Then we can hit up one of the nearby dragstrips and show em what an Olds can do.

Especially if we all go racing or at least everyone go watching the few that wish to race.

I have the 3.4L but if I had to hazard a guess I would say the 2.2 or 2.4 manual, purely because they rev higher and the driver has more control over shift time. the 3.4 is all about top end which takes that extra time to kick in. it really depends on distance. if we are talking quarter mile all three are close competitors, if its the 8th mile than the four bangers will win for sure. (assuming its stock).

I've been over 150+ (paced by a Z06 when he finally caught up) on a 2-mile runway. You sure about that?

we actually did a little test in my cousins front yard.. we jacked my car up and had the front tires off lookin around for whatever to clean / fix, checkin cv axels / boots / tie rod ends.. we figured we'd get the aleros top speed.
this car has the gears to go well over 140 MPH, because at 140, we were at around 3500 rpm- car redlines at 6000 rpm (duh) - this leads us to believe we actually got the front rotors rotating around 170 - 180 MPH once we maxed it out-
with idiocy comes destruction lol.. we damn near melted the passenger side brake pads.. rotor wouldnt turn till it all cooled off.. dont wanna hear "omg that'll damage ur tranny" or anything like that.. im fully aware of what could have gone wrong, but the car still runs fine and it's been about 6 months since we've done this with no problems with the car-
testing ftw..

Man, technicalities. ... My Ecotec will keep up with a lightly modified V6. Once the warranty is up then maybe I'll try to make it keep up with yours.

I gotta admit, that 2.93 ratio in the 4t65 sure didn't hurt any.

If you have enough torque it will be to your advantage. More aggressive then you just lose grip and even go up in smoke.

Not that hard to believe, many on here have nailed 140+ no prob stock. with HPTuners or equivalent you can see your speed even after it's gone off the speedo. I'd never drive that fast though. Lol. Imagine a blowout at 150-160.

Not as easy as it sounds, you still have to have enough power to push beyond the aerodynamic limitations. Just removing your speed limiter is usually not enough to push 140. Most alero's aren't pushing enough power to break 120.

And there's been a few videos on YouTube of Aleros doing faster, stock. Lol this info was taken from a funny "top speed limiter - how to remove?" thread.
