A welded panel would be the right way to do it.

Welding a panel in would ensure it stays like that for the life of the car. Im sure after a couple months to a year that wood started to loosen up, cause cracks in the shitty paint, and eventually will fall out people these days.....lol.... i would LOVE to see a video of those guys trying to take the corner glass out....hahahaha, now THAT would be entertaining
