Just a thought! did you check all three fuses panels? The one on the drivers side of teh dash, pass side of teh dash and the one under the hood. I can't remember if anyof them are for that specific reason but i'll take a look at mine tinight to see!
Good Luck

It's under the hood in the fuse block, check your manual, it's labeled "CIG" or "CIG/ACC"

i also believe they won't work if your e.brake is pulled.
something i noticed while doing all my dash work.... which is insanely frustrating to get everything done, then have NO voltage! issed:

This isn't true, well at least on my 5spd. I've done plenty of work on my car w/the e-brake pulled and i've alway's had power to my cig lights. hell i lit my smoke w/that lighter all the time when the car is parked and e-brake is on.
but mabey that's just because i've also pretty much disbled all of the factory features (leave in reverse to remove key, clutch bypass) and well i guess that's it.
Kinda had to to install my remote start.
well that's the end of my rambling for this topic, and now I'll let someone who knows what they're talking about take over. LOL

Dude i think you actually have a prob there. The headlights are ok they are not suppose to come on until the e brake is put down. but the center console power thing shouldn't be happening.
like you mean there is no power at all. not even your head unit.
that's messed up guy.
I get somone to take a look at that.

i guess i haven't been in my dash for a while... my memmory of it has gotten a little foggy...

The curtesy lights are hooked up to the hweads lights and tehy only come on w/the headligths. if you turn your car on they should not come on right away ( with the e brake on) if you let your e-brake down they should come on. but if you engage your e-brake again they should stay on w/your headlights.
That's how mine is anyway. But don't quote me on this. I'm not sure if the automatics and standards differ for this or not.
But give it a try and let me know. I'm curious if it is the same or not.

If the fuse isn't blown, you probably have a bad resistor which needs to be replaced. It isn't hard to do, but you have to dig up under your dash and it is kind of a pain. I had mine replaced right when my warranty was about to run out... and the only thing I noticed was wrong was my cig lighter didn't work anymore. Then it got a bit warmer and my AC didn't blow cold air anymore.

courtesy lights do indeed go out with the headlights. As far as your cig lighter, is it the port that doesn't work when you plug something in, or does the lighter itself not work? Heavily used cig lighters do sometimes need to be replaced.
DO take the simple route first. the underside of your hood fusebox should have a list of what accessories each fuse supplies. If you find no burnt fuses, then do like Menace suggested and check the connection.

95 % sure it's a fuse
pull and check every fuse till you find it hehe
In the slim chance in hell case the light unit itself has gone bad but I doubt it

I just replaced mine about 3 days ago, It's definatly under the hood. It's the second one in the row above the empty one. And it's a 20amp(yellow) and they're the mini fuses not the bigger ones as I found out the hard way. I bought a cig lighter for my car since I guess they don't make cars with ashtrays and cig lighter. I got about 4 uses out of it before the fuse blew. Never got around to replacing it till now.
