First off this post needs to go in the ecotec forum.

Second the ecotec is a very popular engine and has been upgraded by one company all the way to 1200hp so yes it is possible and turbo kits are easy to find. Yes you will need other parts unless it is a very good kit but ask around in the ecotec forum.

you can make about 400 HP without swapping too many stock parts. Stock cam shafts/gears, timing chain, etc.. but it will cost ya

Not sure about a supercharger for the eco yet, but here's a turbo kit made by
Exploited Racing, and YES, different cars, SAME engine, in case you didn't already know

If you google for "ecotec turbocharger" or "ecotec supercharger" you'll find lots of info. Plus there are already three threads on these topics:

It'll need "internal" mods for 400HP, namely pistons and rods, and beyond that, a good port/polish job on the head and a higher flowing intake (does anybody have one available besides GMPP?) and exhaust system could put you pretty close... although I think to make 400HP with 91 octane gas you'll need to get some aftermarket cams that raise the powerband higher in the RPM range...
