a simple verification of the image location would easily tell you whether it's in a spot viewable by anyone or not

I find it doesn't always work on my cell phone but always works on my desk top at home....

Host the image on a normal folder on the site (ex: http://aleromod.com/aotm/______.jpg), not as a stupid forum attachment
This is what is supposed to be visible to everyone. It's protected and only visible by admins.

That's right.
If you are not logged in and the pic isn't loaded correctly like Ion says, then the pic should not load.
I always log out of my work computer because it's shared.
