Thumbs up

can anyone tell me what the type of bulbs are around the radio? you know where the AC knob lights up and all the other knobs and, everything that lights up in that bezel area. cause i was thinking of gettting amber LEDS in there cause im trying to get a yellow theme goin but, i wasnt sure if, there is some sort of green film that makes the car light up that way, becuase i think they are just clear bulbs and there is some sort of a green screen/film behind the bezel, and changing the bulb color wont matter. and uh does anyone know how to get these bulbs out or this icky green color out, thanks

I've also looked into changing the dash bulbs. after i took everything apart i found the the bulbs are just clear and give off that yellowish color. the knobs and everything actually have a blue film on them. the yellowish lights behind the blue film make the ugly green color you see on the outside. i dont think the bulbs have a certain part number, they're just really tiny bulbs soldered in. i doubt you'd be able to make everything yellow because of the blue film. but if you put in white or blue LED's you would get a really nice blue color. I have blue LED's behind my gauges and I think it turned out pretty nice.

really easy to do, 2 7mm? screws to get the black plastic off thats in front of the dash glass, then 4 8mm? bolts holding the whole cluster in, one wire harness attaches all the wires. each light is in a small hole, change'em all to LEDs and hold em in place with electrical tapesplice off one of the power wires in the harness for your dash light power (can't remember which one but its in another thread i wrote in before) and your done. trickiest part is aiming the LEDs properly into the holes so that you don't get bright spots in your dash.
