PFYC DHP PCM FOR GRAND AM SE

Hey guys, I was just on PFYC under the Grand Am store and noticed their DHP PCM's are "now available for the SE model". I know the GT was not able to be used on the Alero, but I heard the Alero is the same thing as the GASE. The PCM is only $215 right now. Does anyone know if the DHP PCM for the grand am SE will work alright for the Alero???

In theory, the SE one should work with the Alero. Just need to be sure the hardware number on the PCM you are getting matches the one you have in your car.

So would it just be best to call DHP to make sure?

Yeah, pull your PCM and say "I've got a PCM with ####### as a hardware number, I'm interested in one for my XX Alero, I noticed that PFYC is selling the GASE PCM's and In theory, that is the same thing as my Alero, What can you do for me?"

Jason Jeross seems to be like the only employee for DHP

His phone number is 630-881-4419

I emailed him and "sales@dhp.." and he replied to both emails.

I ORDERED MY DHP ON OCTOBER 7th and was promised it would arrive on 10/19/2004. I finally recieved an email back from jason saying they are backlogged. WHOCARES?! I just spent $300+ !!!

And he wont answer my emails either.

STB.

the b&m doesnt do the same.

the dhp doesnt increase line pressure that much, and the b&m doesnt do any skipshifts.

Also doesn't remove the speedlimiter, which is what 99% of us want the chip for.

 why? going that fast on the street or highway would just be plain stupid and childish IMO.......and i guarantee you don't have the mods to hit that speed limiter in the 1/4......

Okay guys....I got a reply (same day I emailed..wow) from DHP. Here's what they said:

Quote:
The calibrations are not the same due to instrumentation/sensor
differences.

If you want to order a pcm for your vehicle, we can do it on a custom
basis
for $215 + $100 refundable core charge + $12 shipping.

Leave me your ph # and an evening time to call.

There's the answer...period.

Yeah that's what I figured too.

108 in the 1/4 mile is about low 13's gotta have a s/c or turbo to get that but they come with a reprogramed PCM anyway

but when you run neck and neck w/ a GAGT on the interstate (my friend has one) and you hit your 108 and he keeps on goin till like 125 or so....it'd be nice to stay w/ him all they way through it. Call it "stupid" if you want, but as long as it's on an open road w/o any traffic or anything, have at it. Honestly, if I'm goin 125mph I am gonna be paying MORE attention to the road than if I was goin 65. I'm not sayin I DONT pay attention when I normally drive, it's just the truth that you pay MORE attention at high speeds than normal everyday driving.

There are more tracks then drag strips. Ever hear of a road course? You can EASILY run against the governer on a lot of those tracks.

So therefor, your arguement is invalid with me.
