How old is the car? Have you ever replaced the battery?

Are you using the original key? Sometimes being worn down causes the security keypass to cut power to the fuel pump. I had this problem, switched to my spare key which had never been used, and it starts fine now.

Sounds more like an electrical problem.. the gas and temp. gauges would still work even though his security trips.. id start checkin fuses and mabey the battery

my gauges didn't work right when my battery was effed up. try checking to make sure the battery terminals aren't loose or corroded. otherwise, take ur battery for a load test to see if its dead.
