They don't impede the headlights @ all, as only the bezels get painted. And I agree with battistoni21, your car looks clean like it is, I wouldn't paint them black. If you've got your heart set on painting the bezels, you might want to consider color matching them to your paint....it might make them flow with the car nicely. I'd ask for a photochop of that 1st pic before cracking them open just to be sure.....
