3400 Sputtering on Startup
Well lately ive been driving my chickies Alero and everytime i start the engine, its sputters for about 10-15 seconds, and wont stay on without pressing the peddle a slight amount. When I have the car warmed up turn it off, then back on and dump it in drive it wont turn off.
Heres what ive done so far.
Reman Mass Air Sensor
New TPS
New IAC
New Vapor Purge Valve
New Coolant Temp Sensor
Replaced PCV valve and hose assembly
New Plenum Gasket and TB gasket.
This is pretty annoying this is my second engine the first one had a few lifters take a dump, but still had the same problems with the old parts.
What should i do next?

Any SES lights?
To me, sounds like injectors or fuel pump. Something fuel related.
When Nate chimes in and says "Head Gasket" just ingorne it

The SES light is on i forgot the code number but I remember it being related to the charcoal canister. But thats it.
Also about 4 years ago I replaced the Fuel Pump and I forgot to list I replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator last month.

This sounds similar to a problem that I'm having with mine, including the 172 code and small evap leak code. I was told to calibrate the tps sensor that I just replaced but I dont have the time to do that now. Maybe that could be something you could try? I dont know if our cars have adjustable tps's.

Redog, you need to change your brain fluid and check your intelligence filter,
Sir, methinks you have a Vacuum leak.

Im not sure if the TPS is adjustable. Any chance the that charcoal canister is bad causing a rich condition? The engine I have has about 124,000 so Im thinking the Front O2 sensor is good.

I replaced the MAP sensor yesterday, got a new fuel cap and erased the SES light. Now the only trouble code I have remaining is P0453. So far the car doesnt sputter, surge or die on startup.

evap purge valve
Im having a similar issue with my 02 Alero v6 and it started when ya first start it it runs funny for about 6-8 seconds then it smooths out about 3 days ago. I went to oreillys and a friend of mine scanned the ses light for me and it pulled up evap system purge valve malfunction. I have a new fuel pump(DELPHI), new MAF,new ignition coils,Tuned pcm from mp racing, deleted Catalytic Converter, deleted 2nd O2 sensor. Now i did install OBX headers with FelPro factory style gaskets and it threw a code for running too lean but it was an exhaust leak and i fixed that. Im at a loss on how to get the ses light to go away!!

way to revive an old thread haha.
what code was set? "flow during non purge event"?, circuit codes? the number would help a lot.
