Hub not coming out?

So I got the 3 pain in the ass bolts out. Got the shaft to move freely out of the hub but the damn wheel hub assembly is not coming out.

So the large center bolt is removed from the half shaft, and its floating in the hub? Give it a few good smacks with a hammer? Is it rusty along that seem where it meets the knuckle?

Center bolt is out and the shaft is floating.

Hmm, that would usually do it.... try taking a chisel, and lining it up along the seem and smacking that?

^ dont do that if you ruin the spline it will be a nightmare realigning it with the axle. you could try to use a prybar between the knuckle and hub, or even a prybar against the wheel hub and tap it with a large hammer, just to get some vibrations to loosen up the rust, should be fine as long as you have the rotor, caliper, 3 back bolts and the 1 axle nut off, thats all that holds it in place.

I don't know what kind of evil magic is holding this POS on there but its not moving. How tight of a fit is the hub into the knuckle? I can't even find my torch.

I had to use the oxy-acetylene torch to get the one out of my mom's truck. On the alero I know it took the dealer mechanic a while to get the drivers side one out with a BFH.

Well, I got half of the hub out, POS came apart inside the knuckle.

Okay, all good, Thanks for the help guys. A little heat, an angle grinder, and the spare tire and its out. Cleaning it all now.

Nope, You just don't thread the nuts on the spare all the way, you get a one inch slap pulling toward you, do that about 100 times.

I used one of those three hook pulleys to remove both of mine for the front hub assembly and they came off with ease if you are still having problems

Ttop is right, but it doesn't really matter since the studs and hub are one assembly, so it doesn't matter if one breaks since it's all going in the trash anyway.

I always use an air hammer and a chisel bit to get in between the knuckle and hub.. works like a charm.

I'd be more apt to do that on a car with an iron knuckle over a aluminum one...
