my dash before was dyed in place.. we just masked off the windshield.. pulled back the carpet.. and taped up anything that wasn't gonna want overspray. With sems vinyl dye.. they make a clear coat for it for that extra painted look.

its really preference if ya wanna take it or leave it in.

^^i'm sure there's a how-to on this!! but there's two screws behind a clip right behind the inside door handle...then there's one behind the red reflector at the bottom of the door....then CAREFULLY pull from the bottom left corner to release the plastic panel clips (just pulls right out). then just detatch all the wiring...and PRESTO...removed door panel!

Im new to this dying and painting the interior...I looked in the How To's and there was nothing on the difference between dying or painting...or am I just that much of an idiot to know that they are the same...if not what are the differences? Pros/Cons?

vinyl dye absorbs into the material, paint goes over the top......vinyl is soft and flexible, paint is not.....therefore paint will crack and chip and peel on vinyl.

That is one thing i would love to do, in blue/white but i am concerned about it not lasting. It would be relatively easy for me to do though.
