what would be involved in converting drums to disks

I am wondering the same thing, prolly the calaper, disk, maybe the spindle assy, would maybe want to swap the master cyl.. not too sure.. i want to do a rear disk swappy...
my buddy's dad has salvage rights... i may just try to get a 99+ alero or G/a with rear disks... and do the swap... among other things lol

i thought all aleros came with 4 discs or is it just the GLS, lucky me then.

Most aleros are 4whl dsk... it is a standard option wtih the 3.4 v6....
the 4banger cars..( i have one) dont come with them.. at least standard...

yeah it depends on the year not the engine or model, i have a '01 GX and it has 4 disc abs... i saw this today that there are kits to convert from drums to disc this isnt for aleros but you get the idea...

well yea it does kinda matter the engine.. because when i was lookin at gettin a v6 alero, Vs a 4cyl it wasnt an option to get 4whl disk abs. :rolleyes:

blk when were you shopping for it, b/c if it was recently then discs wont be standard but like i said if its 01 possibly 02 or older then youre gonna get discs standard.

yup, no drums until 03, and engine doesn't matter, just trim level.

I've got an 03 GL 3.4L V6 DRUM BRAKES. and the trime package with the spoiler

Well it may be differant for you americans but off of Gm canada website that was the info that I got at the time... but w.e
Or maybe it was you can only get 4whl disk on 3.4l cars... meh
But more back to the point as i am interested inthis as well... has anyone swaped a rear drum alero to disks?
