turbo or no?

I have a 16G td05h turbo from a mitsubishi, just sitting around using it as a paper weight. my question to everyone is this. should i make a project out of my 2.2 and boost it with this turbo or should i just let it be the way it is and drive it. lets be honest.. a td05 turbo on a ecotec would be interesting as hell.. fast spool, decent power and reliable (engine wise). My goals would not be high power. just to build it and have it would be good enough for me. I know the most expensive part of all of this would be the tuning. being obd2 it would most likely be a pain in my ass.

so worth it or no? i can probably find a stock exhaust manifold and get a flange welded to it for pretty cheap. only thing i would need to fab would be a down pipe.. hmm.. maybe im just getting ahead of myself here. this may not be the best idea ever.

Your looking at a 4k project maybe. Why not just buy my pacesetter headers and pacesetter dual outlet exhaust

its all about what you really want. i plan on slappin' a turbo on my 3.4 alero down the road, alot of my parts will be bought from Mike at MMS. he has great stuff for my motor. unlike you just not wanting insane power, i want to be over 400 hp, which is very possible. ive already got the build all thought out pretty much. but it will require quite a bit of cash, so it will be awhilw.

tuning, it wont be terribly hard with hpt, especially there are tons of members that can help you.. redog, mfuller, ion, mmgt1, and quite a few others are very familiar with hpt and can lead you in the right direction, especially ion cause he has a turbo 2.4 (which im sure you know)

well my options are to get the S/C kit, or try to frankenstein a turbo kit.

s/c would probably be a bit cheaper and easier.

it is not recommended to build the ecotec above 250hp without upgrading the bottom end

the gm build book states that the connecting rods definately need changed over 250hp and while the pistons have been tested to 300 it is recommended that they are changed at that point as well...at 350 the intake manifold needs upgraded and at 400 the crank needs upgraded
