What Else Could It Be?
Fan switch only works on highest setting.
Replaced the blower motor resistor chip, the control switch, and the motor does work on high speed.
So are there any other components that it could be? Besides just bad wiring somewheres?

Could be the blow motor itself!

It only works in the highest setting. Doesn't necessarily mean that it works fully. It could very well not be the blow motor itself but I figured that mine as well check everything...cover all bases so to speak. Are you sure the blow motor resistor you have isn't faulty?

I really don't think it is bad. When it was replaced with a new ac delco one after I first got the car, the mechanic said that the last resistor was also brand new.

i dont trust mechanics. When I bought my car everything they said they did I had checked and or redone....but to each his own....only other thing you can do is to start checking the hvac controls to make sure everything is plugged in. Check the blow motor resistor to see if it is plugged in correctly. Check the blow motor relay to make sure it is fine as well, should be under the hood.

I watched it done, I know the guy, I saw that the 'old' resistor was already a replacement. He said the new one probably wouldn't do any good, put it in, and then nothing. The fuses and relays are good too.

IDK, I would just take a stab at the connection to the switch. My Alero didn't like that being unpluged at all

Do you have a test light or multimeter to check it out?
With the blower resistor connected, check for power at pin E on the resistor (dark blue wire)
This is also pin 87A on the relay in the underhood junction block.

I had the same issue as well. After replacing the resistor and checking all the connections it turned out it was the blower motor itself.

Still worked on high just made a weird sound on the highest setting...after a couple of months it just stopped working all together.

considering the evidence presented... i'd agree. bad blower motor.. again.
its happened before on here. someone replaced it, only to have it die immediately again.
has anyone ever figured out WHY it burns out?

Checked it out. One of the relays was still good, but unfortunately it was the wrong one. LOL
Thanks guys.
