How long has your muffler lasted?
I was just wondering the intervals in which you guys have had to change your mufflers?
I got my alero back in November with 218k, now 233k and I was wondering about the exhaust. It looks like the factory exhaust style, aside from me polishing up the tips with some eagle one never dull (great stuff btw).
How quiet were the factory mufflers? I'm not really sure if mine needs replaced. Does anybody have any videos to compare? I do know It's louder than my old beretta 3100 right after I had replaced the muffler on that (it was SO friggen quiet, kinda miss it lol)
As far as I can tell the car has lived in Nevada and or the west coast its life, no rust.
And a muffler rusting would be the only thing that would cause it to get louder right?

I dont know about everybody elses, but my factory exhaust is extremely quite. Like sometimes when I pull up to a stop sign and stop, I cant hear my car running and I'm like "did it just cut off on me?" lmao.
Also baffles could break loose and cause some rattle or raspy-ness.

They usually rust away before failing
Living in Nevada you kinda don't have that problem

I've never had to replace a muffler. Ever. On any car. Even my 1995 Escort has it's original muffler, and it has over 192,500 miles on it.
