Electrical Problem???

Ya so the other day my mom was driving my car to me after taking it out of storage, so she made it about 40 miles when all of a sudden the gauges started not reading a bunch of lights came on and suddenly the car lost all power and shut off. A guy brought a new battery and changed it for her on the side of the road, he then load tested the alternator and said it was shot (which is kind of strange beings it's only 2 years old, but whatever). So I brought a new alternator and changed it. I jumped in the car to take off, it started right up and I drove about 2 miles when suddenly the gauges started jumping aruond like the battery was dead, so I pulled over and the car revved up to 3000rpm so I shut it off. When I went to restart it it cranked once and that was it, wouldn't start!

I have no idea what could be going on so any help is greatly appreciated..

I'm puzzled too. Computer comes to mind. Or maybe some sort of short somewhere? I don't claim to be an expert on electrical issues though. Me and electricity don't get along

Check panels to see if there is water there from the windshield leaking...just a thought, even check around the BCM for moisture.

Ya I'm thinking maybe a short or possibly the computer, just is really strange because when I put it away for winter it work perfect and I charged the battery a couple times over winter and started it and it always ran fine. This sucks, I really want to get this thing figured out so I can drive it!

What did you end up finding? Was the alternator just shot or was it some wiring and or harness issue?
